Why ? Why can’t our paramilitary force personnels who recently laid down thier lives in fresh morbid attacks by maoists in Dantewada can not be given the honour of martyrdom ? Why it is reserved only to our military forces ?
This question is making me lament this detrimental system prevailing for so long in our country.
Who framed this rule ? Can anyone tell me !
Those CRPF jawans; were they not fighting for us;society;securing lives of our fellow country men. How can this utmost gallentry be different from the one shown in wars post independence or the recent in Kargil. We are a democratic country and democracy is for the people by the people. Any one, in my opinion, who does anything in favour of society, people, country deserves an honour and in case of death doing so deserves a martyrdom.
How pathetic it is that we still are following those acts & regulations misinterpreted by britishers while in india for their own interests, 60 years ago. This also reflects that we have not come out of ages.
Would you believe Existing Indian Penal Code still extends more security to coins than bank notes ?
Small animals still command a price tag of Rs.10.00 while bigger animals like elephants, camels and horses command a meager price of Rs.50.00 as per the existing Act.
How obtuse it is that the Bankers Books Evidence Act is the same old 1891, Cattle Trespass Act the same old 1871, Forest regulation Act the same old 1927 & Police act the same old 1861 & 1888.
Another example taken from the fresh published 2010 edition of UP police regulation act :
Its rule 448 dictates that UP police can follow any criminal in British India as well.
According to its rule 189 Gurgaon,Karnal, Rohtak and Ambala are still in Punjab and Dehradun is still in Uttar Pradesh.
We still speak my lord in courts; our lawyers still put on long black gowns or coats in scorching heat.
Kudos to our policy makers.
We should openly denounce the misdeeds of our government for its parochial, inept policies.
